After watching the 60 Minutes report, discuss the following:
Despite the fact that the U.S. has a very high unemployment rate, there are some career areas where there are thousands of jobs available that can't be filled. Why is this?
What can be done - who, according to the video, should have a greater role in this?

its because people want jobs but don't want to put the work in to get the job, they don't wanna try in school and they feel they deserve the best job because they want it

DeleteI agree with Jack on this one, it also is because people just don't wanna try to put the effort in and thats their own fault people need to try harder instead of complaining not being able to get the job or even job in general.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Brayden, they do need to lower their cost on education, because believe it or not people actually want to go to college and learn but maybe they can't afford it. Then when they want a job they don't give it to them because they don't have the experience.

DeleteI agree, college is expensive, like ridiculously expensive. Most people don't go because of they are too expensive or they go to a cheap, crapy college.
DeleteThey need to find a way for people with very little money to be able to go to college or some type of school after college or those people are stuck working jobs that already have tons of people and they won't make very much money doing so.

DeleteThere are thousands of jobs that can be filled in one area because a lot of the times they are looking for actual skilled people who have experience to fill them but they don't because they just never tried or never got to learn. All they are looking for is just people who are willing to work hard to go to college and get the experience so then they can get offered the position.

DeleteThere's tons of jobs that can be filled, and should be filled with people. People think they can just sit around and have the world twirl around them and have everything they need, but someone needs to be doing the jobs.

DeleteThere are many jobs for people but they pay isn't enough to live off of, people want the best job because they think they deserve it for what ever reason.

DeleteThere are too many people in this country who don't work and live off the government, most of them just don't have the ambition to get a job and, as simply as possible, they are just too lazy, these jobs could be filled, but the people choose not to.

DeletePeople don't put enough work in to get the jobs they want. They think it'll just get handed to them, which it won't. The only way to get a pay check, is to put in the work and earn the money. This isn't the 1600s anymore, we don't have slaves to do the work we don't want to do.

ReplyDeleteI feel that today people would rather sign up for unemployment than get out there and work toward a job. Also, some people that actually want to do something with their life can't because college can be really expensive and some people can't afford it.
ReplyDeletePeople these days don't want to work for a job they just want it handed to them. Other people just cant afford it because they never went to college and college is expensive. People need to try harder to get a job then just expecting to get it right away without putting in the work.

DeletePeople don't want certain jobs because they can be picky or lazy, but also, for some people, they don't have the opportunity to get these jobs. Some jobs have requirements that many people can't reach, like paying for college to be specialized in a field.

DeleteThe jobs that are abundant, are jobs that no one wants to do. But if people are desperate enough for a job, then you can't be picky.
ReplyDeleteMany people these days are just so lazy and want the easiest jobs. Some people can barely reach the simple requirements that most jobs have. people need to start working harder and putting in effort.
ReplyDeletePeople now days dont work and are to lazy and people are so picky with jobs, and alot of people dont get paid enough to even put food on there table for kids.
ReplyDeleteThere a lot of jobs in machining parts but no one wants to put in the time or effort to do it. If they would put in the time and effort they would have good paying jobs.
