The Making Of A Vine Celebrity

The Making of a Vine Celebrity

There has NEVER been a time in the history of the planet when people had the ability to become instant "celebrities" as you can today. Think about it: Philip DeFranco, Rhett and Link, Justin Bieber - a person can be "discovered" instantly, just by posting a video - even a SIX SECOND video.

Read this article about a current Vine "celebrity", named Jerome Jarre. Take a look at the videos that are linked in the article also:

"Jerome Jarre: The Making of a Vine Celebrity"

Not only has this guy become famous in an instant, it looks like he's not just a "flash in the pan" because is seems as though he understands how to use social media apps to promote himself and other things around him. [Update: He and everyone else IS a "flash in the pan" as far as Vine is concerned - since they're pulling the plug on Vine!]

Had you heard of Jerome before reading the article? What do you think of what he's done on Vine?  What do you think about this kind of opportunity with mobile apps, such as Snapchat? Can anybody do it? Will such fame last, and is it something that can be made into a legitimate business?

HERE is his YouTube channel.

    2. It's true, but yes people do still click on it knowing it's clickbait. No matter what people will click on it if it looks/sounds interesting.

  3. Eventully the fame wil go away. People will start watching others and after a while, they will forget about your content.

    1. nothing last forever and you need to make a career off something you can live on for sure, not a dream.

    2. I agree with that, but if that person truly is entertaining or even just intelligent they will find an audience.

    3. I agree with all of these statements.

    4. I agree, fame does go away, no matter what it'll go away.

    5. I agree, their fame won't last forever unless they do something remarkable.

    7. Its true cause most of these people will make videos but they will soon get boring because the internet is always changing with more funny videos.

  4. I think I've heard of this guy before he probably popped up somewhere. It's cool that it's much easier to get out into the world except there's also a problem with it. Literally anybody in our time can become famous a lot of people don't even show the true talent people used to have. It used to take tons of time and work to become famous and show your talent. Now people can just record someone doing something dumb and they go viral without even trying. People like this probably won't be famous very long because they'll run out of ideas to keep people interested.

  5. People don't really know what "talent" is anymore, there are still shows and everything but sense phones and the internet came out people have lost what talent is. People like this are amusing to watch because it's what everyone want to see, not what they should.

  7. Anyone who gets famous over these things typically close to no talent, they just entertain by doing stupid things that anyone could do and eventually they'll fade away

  8. Most of these people don't have any true talent but people still love them as these super talented people.

    1. I agree, most people who become famous have no talent at all.

    2. I agree that is true, i mean someone literally got famous for literally saying a catch phrase. Its actually stupid and that shouldn't happen.

    3. I agree, alot of these people dont have true talent most of the time its just one of their videos that gets popular and they are forgotten.

    4. Yeah most people dont know what true talent is anymore.

  9. It may be fun making videos for people to watch and then being famous and making money off their clickbait videos. But one day all that will go away. People will click on another persons channel and start liking them and stop watching them and what will they do after that? Yes they may have 1 million followers but you don't make money based off that. The industry will die out. Vine died out after awhile, then the creator deleted it. Everything ends in the long run.

    1. I agree with Raven on that, people may get famous but eventually it will basically fade because like she said people stop watching and get tired of things so that means no more fame.

    2. I think that the quicker people gain followers the, sooner people forget about them.

  10. I don't think it's fair that people like him who have no talent and does things that anyone can do become famous while people who work hard and actually have talent barely get noticed. These people who get famous off clickbait won't last.

    1. I agree, people can become famous from a short video but it probably wont be good or it'll be a one time thing of popularity

    2. I agree, most people who become famous over one vid it most likly wont last long people are always finding new things to rave over.

    3. I agree, there are people who work hard to achieve the same things as people who get lucky.

  11. I have not heard of him reading this article before and i think what he's doing on Vine is completely ridiculous, i don't think anybody can become a celebrity in that short of time. I do think that since this happened he will have better opportunities getting himself out there on social media. But i don't think just anybody can go out there and get famous just because of a social media app. Honestly i think now that he got famous, it won't last long because people get tired of things and and go onto new things and as for making it into a business, i don't think so.

  12. I think becoming famous from a video would be cool but theres always new videos that come around and usually that person will be forgotten unless they keep making videos everyone enjoys. Being famous from the internet I think would not be a reliable job. I believe anyone could become popular or even famous from a video but it would be hard to make a job out of it because the internet is always changing with new people and videos.

    1. I agree, people who only become famous for one or even two things, wont stay famous forever, because people will forget about the content you made.

  13. A lot of people these days are becoming famous from just one cool video on social media. I don't think they will stay famous for long people these day are always finding new things to rave over.

  14. I think in order to stay famous on a social media platform they have to keep their content original. If they don't evolve , people will get bored they move on. Now a days people can gain a following easily but it never lasts.

    1. There's definitely a lack of original content these days, if there was someone who kept up with the times, they'd probably last for a while.

  15. It's definitely easy to become famous these days, just make something either extremely stupid, or semi-funny, and you'll blow up.
